Obama hits Faux, Hannity over Michelle attacks

Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 08:18:03 AM PDT

What happened was that the conservative press — Fox News and the National Review and columnists of every ilk — went fairly deliberately at her in a pretty systematic way ... and treated her as the candidate in a way that you just rarely see the Democrats try to do against Republicans. And I've said this before: I would never have my campaign engage in a concerted effort to make Cindy McCain an issue, and I would not expect the Democratic National Committee or people who were allied with me to do it. Because essentially, spouses are civilians. They didn't sign up for this. They're supporting their spouse. So it took a toll. If you start being subjected to rants by Sean Hannity and the like, day in, day out, that'll drive up your negatives.

Fair and Balanced: How about Sugar Mama McCain?

Fri Jun 13, 2008 at 02:06:14 PM PDT

Just a hit and run diary: If Michelle Obama gets to be "Obama's Baby Mama," does that mean that Fair and Balanced Fox News will call Cindy McCain "McCain's Sugar Mama?"

After all, if it weren't for her piles of beer money, McCain literally wouldn't be able to get his campaign off the ground.  And it would add balance to Fox's stellar election coverage.

Dems rush to praise, and appear on, Faux

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 10:54:02 AM PDT

Someone once said that the problem with the Democratic party is that it is the "stupid party."  Not that its members and voters are stupid, but that the party's decision-making tends to be stupid.  It's one thing to be disorganized and disunited, it's another to be clueless.  So it is with the party and Faux.

Faux's War on Obama

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 06:45:52 AM PDT

agitprop

n 1: political propaganda communicated via art and literature and cinema.

You can add television.

I had the misfortune of checking in on Faux last night from 7 to 11.  What I saw was a nonstop attack on Obama, mainly focusing on every contact Obama has had with African-Americans who do not fit into Faux's defintion of patriotic correctness.  Some may brush this off.  But I take it seriously.  Remember, it was Hannity and Faux that began pushing the swift boat thing.

Ten Best Reasons Not to Debate

Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 11:36:54 AM PDT

I can think of more than 10 reasons why Obama should not debate Hillary - on Faux, MSNBC or CNN.

Too many diaries and comments on the pros and cons.

My ten cents worth.....

Clinton accepts Fox Debate

Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 11:42:41 AM PDT

After the democratic candidates (led by Edwards, if I'm remembering correctly) declined to participate in a Fox-sponsored debate last April, Hillary's campaign today accepted just such a scenario.

Stupidest comment? Iran Pres or U.S. Pres? Something lost in translation here...

Tue Sep 25, 2007 at 04:02:48 PM PDT

We all know what to expect from our own King George. But last week he hit a new low when he claimed that . Mandela was dead. Now Iran's President while visiting claims that there are no homosexuals in Iran.

Who are we to believe? Either Mandela is a now dead homosexual living in Iran or what?(kidding...) What is this going? Are Bush and Ahmadinejad having a contest to see who can say the dumbest things and not have the MSM report it? The Iranian Prez's Columbia conference yesterday lasted over an hour and the only thing that the MSM reports was about a lack of homosexuals in Iran?

I'VE SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE

Thu Sep 20, 2007 at 03:41:37 AM PDT

I woke up from a nap Monday afternoon to a Faux News report that the FBI had identified Britney Spears as a "person of interest" in their investigation of a conspiracy to hire O.J. Simpson to murder Kevin Federline.  Okay, maybe I got that a little mixed up but...Did somebody set off a daja vu bomb while I was sleeping or am I just a little late in developing my long anticipated schizophrenia?  This O.J thing is like the ultimate re-run of a re-make of "The Press Frenzy that Ate Reality". Good God, somebody put out a contract on Kevin Federline?  Why? Like the puddles under the soft serve dispenser at Burger King, eventually Kevin will evaporate on his own leaving behind just a stain. Why go to all the trouble of killing him? But in the meantime, assuming somebody was interested enough to plan on rubbing out the Fed-ex, was it Britney or just some music lovers?  Or maybe it was some teenagers from the mall, looking to eliminate the one celebrity who makes them look shiftless by comparison.  Or maybe The Juice was just hired to remove that insipid smirk from The Fed’s face. I’m telling you, it’s been a hell of a week on Faux News and the week’s not even over yet!
