Does Barack have to be one of "them?"

Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 10:14:35 AM PDT

Chris Mathews and Tim Russert assert that Barack Obama is disadvantaged with working class whites because they don't yet view him as one of them.
Is this the criteria we should use in selecting our next President?  Follow me below the fold where I express my views.

My Final Prediction is a Five-Star Lock!!

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 07:33:23 AM PDT

Polls!  Polls!  More polls!

To paraphrase Michael Berube, Professor of literature and cultural studies at the University of Pennsylvania, in a post last week or so at TalkingPointsMemo, regarding the ongoing navel-gazing at the Pennsylvania polls, which were inconsistent at the time:

We need to push off the primary past April 22 until more polls come out!

Will it be a 10-point win by Hillary? A squeaker by Obama?  Will Hillary keep it to 6?  Or 7?  Or--my God, man, imagine the possibilities--8?

We may never know.

Oh, actually, sorry, I guess we will know.

Dither dather over the final tallies as you wish, for what brings you joy brings me joy, my wee compatriots.

But if you want a real prediction, if you want the real deal, as they say, nay, if you want what will undoubtedly be heralded by future historians as a stroke of unprecedented prescience, then traipse with me with eager antici....pation across the fold!

Democrat Michael Padilla for New Mexico State Senator

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 09:30:45 PM PDT

Albuquerque businessman, entrepreneur, and community activist Michael Padilla entered the race for State Senator in District 11.  "It is more important than ever that State Senate District 11 has a hard working and experienced leader that gets things done," said Michael Padilla, a thirty-five year old life-long democrat.  "Our district needs a leader willing to fully commit the time, energy and courage to make sure we are well represented in the state legislature."

Padilla went on to add, "I will provide solid leadership that can stay ahead of public safety trends, economic changes, educational requirements, environmental impacts, and desperately needed infrastructure enhancements."

Padilla concluded by saying "Our families in Westgate, the South Valley, and Los Padillas have been paying taxes for over 100 years, and we have been forgotten and ignored, I will stop this immediately and make sure we get our fair share."

FUMSNBC: Boycott Power of the Purse

Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 08:27:05 PM PDT

Normally I read diaries here and I make a comment or two, rec a few up, or occasionally offer a little slap back TR.  No big deal.  It's better than watching a rerun while we wait for the writer's strike to end.

But tonight's different.

I just read a diary that really got to me.  And to quote a line from an old movie called Network, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore."

Ten Best Reasons Not to Debate

Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 11:36:54 AM PDT

I can think of more than 10 reasons why Obama should not debate Hillary - on Faux, MSNBC or CNN.

Too many diaries and comments on the pros and cons.

My ten cents worth.....
